Hi, I'm Abby- a communications specialist with a knack for creativity, all things Harry Potter and coffee. Sometimes, I kick around a soccer ball for fun, too.
As sports editor for Piedmont College's newspaper, The Roar, I take on the role of reporting for all sports teams on campus. I am also a contributing writer with three years of experience in investigative and news journalism,
column and feature writing, and blogging.
As a Georgia Press Association scholarship recipient, I interned for the Monroe County Reporter, recounting a demonstrated history of working closely with new reporters, community members, police departments and fire departments. During intense situations, I confidently handled tasks such as conducting field research, interviews and meetings to gather information for stories.
I have published articles for the Monroe County area, reporting news, sports, community events, feature stories and my own opinion column. While doing so, I learned to maintain a high level of professionalism and calmness with all personnel, even in high-stress situations.

By interacting professionally with customers, co-workers and community members, I developed strong communication and active listening skills, with the result of conducting front-page breaking news stories. I am IRB and AP style certified, a master of proofreading and successful at writing appropriately to any audience while conducting extensive, detailed research on any subject.
I have been selected to work and intern for Patterson Pumps, with the chance to construct both a logo and branding materials, while redesigning the company's website, recreating their business plan and advertising efficiently within the community by producing virtual technology endorsements.
